VRM -> Device List -> Firmware scan doesn't find anymore the Multi RS

As per title, for some time - but I don’t know since when - any firmware scan from the Device List on VRM will only find the Cerbo GX device.
The Multi RS in that system is not found anymore.

No problem with VE.Bus systems, where the inverters on those type of systems are found without problems…

Hi @alexpescaru

First thing to do in these situations is update the GX device to the largest firmware version.

My Multi RS are showing in firmware update;

Thanks, I was afraid that will be the answer…

Unfortunately, as my system is working OK, I don’t want to update it to the last version.

So, as a working system, that was not touched for many months, the fact that an option that was showing up until a few time ago and now it doesn’t, leads me to believe it is something on your part, something that you’ve changed in the way the latest Cerbo OS is polling the inverter, or something inside the inverter firmware.

Which firmware version on your Multi RS?
By the way… Multi RS Smart? A442? Is the old single tracker version?
Mine is A443…

That is all possibly true, it’s also been the case many times that we deploy R&D resources to investigate a seemingly unrelated issue and then it’s resolved with a firmware update.

So now it is the essential pre-condition when troubleshooting.

A442 is an earlier hardware model Multi RS (the single MPPT tracker version without the PV protection circuits).

Thanks…
So it will remain a mystery, up until I will really need to solve a real problem. God forbid on this…

Anyway, I will put it “on the shelf” with the other problem, the fact that on VictronConnect it doesn’t show anymore both trackers and the advice was also “update it to the last version”, despite the fact that on old VC versions are showing both of them.

Too bad that old systems, that are working and as recommended - if it works, don’t touch it - are starting to loose functionality when paired with the latest software developments…

Why are you checking for updates if you don’t want to update?

Because I have test rig on which I am doing research and various tests.
I found out that, on certain combinations, errors are appearing and I believed that it’s normal to get developers attention.
Despite my, sometimes, aggressive criticism, I still like the products and want for them to work as they should.
