Victron Multiplus 12/1600/70 plastic version

Hi, I have just exchanged an old Pheonix Multiplus 12/1600/70 with a new PMP122160000 MultiPlus 12/1600/70-16 230V VE.Bus device.

The new device is the plastic enclosure variant.

For the old installation my phoenix Multiplus was connected to a “Pheonix Multi Control” external controller which was connected via an RJ45 Netzwork cable.

It is the older version with an analog dial for the shore current and no LED Display.

I tried connecting the RJ45 network cable to my new Victron Multi plus, but it seems to not work…

Question: Is the older Phoenix Multi Control supposed to work with the new Multiplus?

Or can I connect it to my Ekrano device and then switch the Multi Plus functionality through the Ekrano?

I would not expect an old Phoenix Multi Control to work with a new MultiPlus, no; the modern equivalent of the PMC is the DMC, the Digital Multi Control.

However, yes, if you have an Ekrano, connect the MultiPlus to the Ekrano and you’ll have the mode switching and input current settings available there!

Hi thanks, yes of course, the Ekrano switches the Multiplus flawlessly. The question is just if I have to unplug and unmount the Multi Control Headunit or if it can stay in use.

I like the LEDs that tell you in one go the state of the multiplus. The Ekrano goes into screen off mode after longer idle time and then you always have to touch on the screen to wake it up.

Also I don´t see why it should not work since it has a VE.Bus connector and the new panel mount controllers look almost identical.

So can someone confirm that the newer Multiplus will for sure not work together with the old Phoenix Multi Control?
