VeConfig assitant Window opening outside of viewport

Just to report an Issue.
I was trying to create an Offline File using VeConfig for a project that will require the use of the Assistant(2 Signal BMS).
I used a Fake full function profile, 48V, 120V
I was able to add the assistant. When I try to start the assistant, the application seems to froze. After the first click time on start the assistant, nothing seems to happen. Every time I click in the window, the computer chimes like it is waiting for some input from me but no secondary window appears.
It is then impossible to close the application. only option is to use Task manager to Kill it.
Using Windows 11 latest update:

Did you try Alt + Tab to find a hidden window?

I had not. But just re- tested and no other windows listed when doing Alt-Tab

In task Manager the application is shown as suspended if it means anything to you…

But the issue is effectively a Screen position issue. I use 3 screens and it seems the window did open outside of the viewable area. The edge of the new window is visible:

I had not noticed it before it was behind another window. I closed the window out of frame window and moved the main window before reopening the assistant and it is now Visible

The window opened with an Offset. But the next screen assitant window was again outside of the viewing area.

I did close then reopen Ve Config and restarted leaving the APP where it opened. Then the Assistant window kept opening normally.

So the Issue was that I moved he App to another screen(3 monitors in this case) and the assistant windows seemed to open with an offset proportional to the distance to the original window location.

Summary do not move it…

Re-labeled the Thread for clarity

That is a quite common issue with windows, happens to a lot of applications.

If the window creates a (separate) taskbar entry, you can get it back:

  • Hover the entry in the taskbar, so the preview appears
  • Rightclick, select “Move”
  • Press every arrow key on the keyboard once. (This will snap your cursor to the windows edge)
  • Move your mouse. (This will make the cursor appear back where you left it - with the missing window glued to it)

I work with 2 monitors at work and a 32:9 monitor at home and never had that problem.
Normally the assistant window opens in the middle of the normal settings window.

But good that you could figure it out for you.
