Running VEConfigure on smaller screens

VEconfigure Setup uses more pixels than my screen has. On a 1024x768 screen it looks like this:

So I can’t hit ‘next’.

Even on a 1920x1080 screen the ‘next’ button is half off the bottom of the screen. So I can (just) run the setup, but some parts of VEconfigure itself are still off the screen bottom.

Is there a way to make it accommodate to smaller/older screens? - the writing seems to be huge so it could be rendered much smaller. If it was rendered at half-resolution things would be fine.

You probably have a zoom set.

OK. So it’s not supposed to look like that?

Some investigation found that my dpi was set to 288 (probably left over from previous laptop that had one of those crazy resolution ‘retina’ displays with far too many pixels and everything is microscopic so apps had to be doubled to be readable).
Setting that to 144dpi produces an application that looks more like what one would expect.

Excellent - now I should be able to get to all the settings!
