The Victron GX integration arrived in Home Assistant

Just a quick notice to let you know that the Victron GX integration has become part of the default Home Assistant 2026.5 installation, launching at :trophy: platinum quality!

For more info see:

Some exisitng discussion here as well:

Yep did mention it here as well was wondering if it was a Victron official release but at least it’s acknowledged Home Assistant with Gx Touch - What are people doing for a single UI interface? - #10 by Daza

We stopped the development of our own release in favour of supporting this one. And there is a direct line between Tomer and Victron, so this integration can be made as good as possible.

That’s great and glad to see the Dev getting the support/access. Great work to all involved

Very cool. I assume it is too early to see what people are doing with this?

Had a quick look and it works, but updated much slower than the older hacs Victron MQTT integration.
Possibly/probably something wrong on my end and will try again soon.

Hi,

The old HACS version actually uses the same library that contains most of the functionality. So the new official integration is more or less the old HACS one, but then with some changes that were required by the Home Assistant developers. So I would not expect it to update more slowly than the old one.

Regards,
Thiemo van Engelen

The old one has a setting for update frequency. I just had a quick glance on the new one and did not find the same setting but could well have missed it.
Will dig deeper when there is time. Thanks.

I would assume that the dev is using the HACS end more as beta/testing branch, as the HA version one really needs to be finished that said the Dev has been great with the implementation of this in HACS when they started and I’ve had no issues with it to be honest but I would rather the HA version which I imagine would be less frequent and mainly fallowing HA releases which is great for me as it means I don’t have to keep restarting HA with every update. Very glad it’s on the HA branch now as anyone getting involved in HA would now see there Victron system Automagically pop up

Sadly, the HA guys still didn’t approve exposing the update frequency setting in the built-in integration ad this is breaking some policy they have. If you have any feedback why you would like to have it there as well I will be glad if you can add your comments to: Victron GX: Configurable debounce interval by tomer-w · Pull Request #170862 · home-assistant/core · GitHub

Also, feel free to open any additional feedback on the main HA core repo. This is where we track any problems with the new official integration.

I hope that rather quickly the official integration will be good enough for 99% of the users.
