Randomly frozen GX Touch Display on Cerbo GX

New cerbo GX and GX touch screen running on latest firmware, 3.55.

Every once in a while, when I wake up the screen it does not respond to touch afterwards.

One weird symptom is that the the numbers on the screen flicker rapidly as it they were updating super fast and then stop, and the UI ends up frozen. the only way to get back to a good state is to reboot. The web UI remains functional when the screen is frozen.

Is this a known issue? It feels like a software issue more than hardware but it would be great to get feedback to know when this will be solved!

(Actually not a DIY issue, this is on an install my a Victron professional installer)

I was looking for a topic that deals with the same problem I have, I also find the display frozen on a page that is not the one where I left it the last time I used it and the only part of the display that responds is the one in the top right to turn off the display. To solve the problem I can only restart the Cerbo, disconnecting the display and connecting it again has no effect. Of course on the web side everything works and if I connect to the web part locally (not via VRM) the same.

Looks like a very similar problem. The only workaround I found was to disable display sleep altogether, and then it never freezes. No idea what impact it will have on the display in the long run, but it does the trick for now.

Ah so it seems like a problem with the display not recovering properly after a sleep mode? Good to know I wouldn’t have gone in that direction. Thanks

Hi Both,

No known issues for this, and I don’t see any others yet so I don’t think it is wide spread.

If it were my unit, I would first try the complete factory reset to defaults.

If that didn’t work I would get in touch with my dealer for warranty RMA.

Thanks for the reply, when you say to do a factory reset you obviously mean the Cerbo, can you help me on how to make a backup of the settings to reload after the reset? Thanks

Unfortunately there is no method yet to save and restore the settings, it needs to be done manually.
