I am experiencing an issue where my Victron Cerbo GX screen intermittently goes black screen but the system continues running in the background. Restarting sometimes helps, but the problem returns.
I am using firmware version and have checked connections. Has anyone faced this issue? Could it be a firmware, power, or display issue. Any troubleshooting suggestions would be appreciated!
Hi,
I am experiencing similar / same issue. I think it might be connected with latest firmware. My cerbo screen gets dark ( I think this is standard behavior) but when I wake up screen by touching it I can see that it is frozen and numbers doen’t change. It looks like it has frozen.
My Cerbo is on v3.54.
I am waiting that next version will fix it.
Are you aware of this issue and are you working on fix for it ?
I don’t run nodered at all.
screen is connected directly to Cerbo (USB + HDMI cables).
temperature in the room is around 17 C ( if you want I can measure temperature on screen by my hand but I have not noticed any overheating)
Everything was working fine till some of last firmware updates.
I was wondering to downgrade cerbo firmware but first I want to check with you guys what do you recommend.
I have update Cerbo to Beta version (something 3.60.xxxxx) - same result (screen frozen after while)
I have update Cerbo to prev version 3.52 - same result (screen frozen after while)
I have put it back to latest version 3.54 and I have changed DISPLAY to v1 (old classic view).
and it is working fine.
So there is something with new UI “http:/xxxxxx/gui-v2” which freezes the screen after while, but when it is put back to classic view it works correctly
Meaning too much CPU added usage for a such small improvement as gui-v2, for a thing that it’s watched only 1% of the time and the rest of 99% is staying off or unwatched.
Cerbo seems to be at its limits for such things.
Maybe the ones with Ekrano are OK because of the added CPU power, but how many are they…
And maybe the dev team should thread carefully, because it seems that the CPU is at its limits and can’t compensate anymore for the mishaps in software with CPU power. And things could get quickly out of hand and therefore the reputation of the system can go south…
