I have a Quattro with firmware 486. To use generator warm-up/cool-down the advice is to update to at least 502. Latest is about 522. I looked for the procedure. There are several. I do not have a Windows PC or a USB-MK3 dongle. VRM is said to be posisble. Described here: Remote VE.Bus firmware updates [Victron Energy] but this process loses configuration and needs a Windows based tool to re-programme configuration. I have Android phone/tablet. Is there a way now to smoothly update Quattro firmware not using Windows or special hardware?
Unfortunately not.
Thanks for clarifying that. I need either to buy an MK3 interface and borrow a Windows machine, or alternatively pay a technician. It would have been useful if the Cerbo (say) had proxy code to manage the update for VB.bus items.
To clarify, the VRM update does have a process where you reload the config again via VRM. This does not need the dongle, just a Windows device for running veconfigure. If there was a simple way around the requirement, I have no doubt the team would have already implemented it.
