Hi Everyone,
I have a quattro that is causing me a lot of grief. It’s my third Victron install, so I’m not exactly green.
It’s a quattro 10kva. It’s installed with 6 BYD LV5 modules, 2 lynx distributors, 2 RS MPPTs, a Cerbo GX and 15 Kilowatts of panels. I have mains and a generator but they are currently switched off. Everything bar the quattro is new and has been switched on for the first time. As for the quattro, it was taken in for RMA still new but displaying a similar issue about a year ago. A new board was installed and after verifying it was successfully fixed, I switched it off until now. Only to switch it on to be met by a similar issue.
Symptoms:
- It shows low battery and the red LED on the chassis continuously blinks
- AC out has no voltage as measured by a multimeter. A bulb never lights up. No battery module is blocking discharge. Moreover, the sun was out
- The remote console shows its state as off regardless of the position of the switch. However, changing the mode (off, on, inverter only, charger only) via the soft switch shows the correct mode. Regardless, the state remains off. Different combinations of positions on the physical and the soft switches never work.
Things I have tried
- Restarted VE Bus many times via remote console
- Restarted the quattro several times physically
- Updated the firmware via VRM from 556 to 559
- Pulled out the communication cable from the inverter
- Measured voltage at the battery terminals with a multimeter. It’s 54.74v. Oddly, the inverter reports 37.14v via remote console and the BYD battery monitor reports 53.51v. I don’t know what this means.
Any suggestions? I’m reluctant to return the inverter to the shop for RMA for the second time!
