QUATTRO 12/5000/220-100/100 120V low battery

I have recently installed a Quattro 12/5000/220-100/100 (120 V), and even though the batteries are stable at 13.5 V — measured directly at the Quattro DC terminals, not only at the battery side — the unit immediately shows a “Low Battery” fault when switched ON.

At startup, the “Overload” LED flashes for a brief instant, then the “Low Battery” LED turns on and remains steady. The same behavior occurs after disconnecting both AC and DC, waiting for several seconds or even minutes, and reconnecting again.

The configuration appears correct, the low-voltage limits are well below 13 V, and there is no apparent reason for the low-battery indication. Both the local display (Ekrano) and VE.Configure on the laptop report the same fault.

At one point, VE.Configure also reported **VE.Bus Error 15 (“Internal DC bus voltage too high”)**.

After several full power resets (AC and DC disconnected), the issue persists, which may indicate an internal DC-link or sensing fault.

This Quattro is new (around one month old) and has been used very little so far.

Could you please advise on possible causes or next diagnostic steps?

If required, I can provide the VE.Configure file (.VED) and the unit’s serial number for your review.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Do you or your batteries have a pre-charge circuit? Do you have an MPPT? Are there loads on the inverter?

At startup, the inverter and some loads demand a lot of power. The batteries alone may not be able to satisfy the demand. But then, the inverter (or load in question) may not start up. Basically, we don’t have enough information.

I had a similar problem but the cause was a faulty inverter . It was fixed through warranty.

The batteries are full, and the loads are off. Apparently in the meanwhile we found a “ghost” BMS in the software and after we removed it it started working. After a little while though, it went to low battery again. Off and on again and working. It may be a problematic inverter

Sounds like. If you return the inverter, it is easier if you or your Victron agent complete this: https://www.victronenergy.com/upload/documents/Pre-RMA_bench_test_instructions/114199-Pre-RMA_bench_test_instructions-pdf-en.pdf

coming back with the topic, it seems that after the extra installation of the quattro, we had to update of course all the machines to the latest version, and do a factory reset to the ekrano and reboot the whole system, so that it starts as a whole, and now it works perfectly.
