My concern is that this figure is way too high, given that my energy provider has just billed me for the same period and the total for my whole property, including electric heating to my partner’s van in the colder weather we have had during that time, is 210 kwh, rather less than the 397 kwh indicated by Victron for my van only. Perhaps there is something I do not understand, or I am looking at the wrong part of the display, but on the face of it the accuracy/usefulness of the Victron data seems questionable.
It also depends whether this is metered energy or estimated by an inverter - e.g. multiplus.
The Multi’s are not that accurate at measuring power, with consequential errors in an energy count. If reported by a meter, then this bears further investigation.
The consumption for the Victron installation was shown on the VRM portal and I assume was generated from the equipment itself. The consumption was shown as 397 Kwh for the same period that the metered supply to the whole property ( house and a second van heated by an electric heater during the cold weather) was 210 Kwh which seemed impossible.I referred this to the installers, Bluefix, who eventually replied to say that they didnt know why this would be, and suggested that I refer to the community, hence my post.
Whilst I can understand that there may be some discrepancy , this seems outside a tolerance level. My concern in this particular respect is that if this information is wrong, other readings may be incorrect, and maybe the readings on the Victron display in the van may also be wrong. As is probably obvious, I have no technical knowedge and the installation was entirely installed by Bluefix who are I understand a Victron installer.
Any further assistance anyone can offer will be very much appreciated.
