Hello everyone,
Is an EM24 suitable as an energy meter for shore power in a camping vehicle?
I would like to place it directly behind the shore power input and display the data on the Cerbo, but I don’t know whether it is suitable for this.
There is not always voltage there, when plugged in it would have to start up first and what does the cerbo say if the EM24 is not available?
Or are there better measuring devices for this?
Kind regards
Jan
Definitely! Why not use a simple Shelly 1PM? Any simple power meter would do the job.

The victron VM-3P75CT is regarded as the better energy meter, it’s a newer model.

This is a 3-phase model. Shore power input usually is 1-phase. And there is absolutely no need for high accuracy, because this is not for control of the inverter, it’s just for counting.
Theres also the external CT available if just measuring current is enough for you

The EM24 also is a 3 phase unit.
Indeed, just for keeping track of the used kWh almost any meter will do.
Here’s an overview of the models.

I’ll have to look into that. I think integration is easier with EM24, but maybe this is a good alternative. Thanks!

That’s right, definitely single-phase, and it’s just a matter of estimating how much power the heating or air conditioning draws and displaying that on the Cerbo.

Interesting, thanks. I have a Multiplus compact, I guess it won’t work with that, right?
I’m familiar with the overview, and the EM24 seemed like the smallest solution to me. Assuming it works with shore power…

For single phase you can use the ET112.
