Is it possible to use a smart shunt to see the charge values on the cerbo gx?
I take power from the car battery/generator thru two smart tr orions 1/12-30 and charge my smart lithium battery bank. But I can’t see the charge info on the cerbo.
See my system on pic.
I have heard that the ground will mess everything up…
I am confused because the picture shows a Lynx BMS which would give you the battery SOC or have you included that as a generic picture.
You can use a Smartshunt, but you must connect the chassis ground to the load/ system negative side of the shunt rather than directly to the battery.

Yes, I have the Lynx smart BMS.
I have the whole system except for the external generator connected to the Multiplus.
But the Lynx BMS don’t give me the charge values from the Orions on the Cerbo screen.
Im interested to see the orions values as a “tile” on the Cerbo svcreen or in some way in the VRM.
I want to see the values between the orions and the BMS if that make any sense.
Understand things now. You can add a SmartShunt and program it as a DC Energy meter and a subtype as a generic charger or such other type. This will then appear in the Cerbo Device list and as a separate device in VRM but not as a tile on the dashboard. However, for the non isolated Orions you have to be very clear where the SmartShunt sits because as you have already guessed, the ground lead from the Lynx modules will carry the negative current from the lithium batteries to the alternator. The negative lead on the Orions only carries a balancing current, not the charging current. You could try a SmartShunt in the ground wire if the only time it carried current is when the Orions are charging.
