Looking to install a DC-DC alternator charger in my camper van through running power in the alternator through the Orion-TR DC-DC Charger. Based off the Orion Charger pic, I’m thinking that its working.
That being said, this charge isn’t being recognized on my Cerbo Monitor. As shown in the Cerbo Monitor picture, it isn’t even recognizing DC input as an option.
We have a campertruck with Cerbo G, 4 AGM 220V batteries in 24 Volt, Multiplus 5000 24V and 3 380Watt Solar panels.
I would like to see charging via Alternator also.
In the VRM I do not find the charging today (16 march 2025) We drove for 1,5 hours
You can check the data in the VRM portal: VRM portal
Unless you have a shunt immediately downstream of your Argofex you won’t be able to isolate the volts/amps coming from the alternator. Without the shunt, the amps are simply dumped into your system to satisfy whatever loads are there to take up the amps. You will see the alternator amps when the loads have been satisfied and the amps are then put into the battery and your existing shunt will see those amps.
Hard to follow your diagram. In vehicles the negative connections between the engine batteries and house batteries and the chassis ground are at fault and connected wrong. Look at this sketch, you may not have all the devices shown.
