What happens if both the Input and Output of an Orion DC-DC charger are connected together?
We have a set-up where we can join the two batteries together (as shown by the orange path) as an emergency to be able to start the engine from the house bank. Will this cause any problems?
I would not expect so, it might try and flow 12A around that circuit pointlessly while you have the combine switch connected but it can not produce highrr volts to damage it. You could add a switch to the Orion remote terminals to turn it off if combining as long as you remember to turn it back on.
So it will “burn power”, but won’t break anything
