NEW: Use an Android tablet as dedicated GX Wi-Fi Display (beta)

Checked version again this morning and still showing v1.6.
No update available when checked.

Is there a changelog available for version releases?

I had to reboot for the update to funktion. Lenovo M7.

Thank you very much for an excellent feature!

However - I have two Raspberry Pi’s running Venus OS in my network. This confuses the app and it keeps switching back and forth between the two disregarding my choice of ip to connect to and occasionally timing out with an error during a ”switch”.

I have now turned one of the pi’s off and then everything works flawlessly with the one that is still on. They both show up with no SN in the connection screen. I guess that has something to do with this problem?

Same problem here. Two pi’s, when one is disconected app work stable, with both in network every 40 sec make error and reload.

Tried to use the app auto update from beta 6 but keep getting Update download error and nothing happens. Device shows there is an update beta 8. So i click install and then about 10secs in get the update download error.

So i tried a factory reset and installing from QR code and now getting a can’t setup device error.

Have successfully installed on a no name amazon tablet android 11 from beta 4 to beta 5 to beta 6 but now can’t get GX reinstalled

Did another factory reset and tried the QR code method this morning and now all is good. Upgraded to Beta 8. Not sure what was happening but its fixed now.

Checked again in app settings and still showing v1.6

Then checked in android apps and this shows v1.8

So seems it has updated, but glitch in not showing up in app settings.

I installed it with apk and it seemed to work fine. But after a few days in operation I saw that it crashes once or several times a day with a white screen or into the reload screen. I know: it’s still Beta. I always can get it to work after crash. Maybe this is a result of my apk installation instead of a tablet factory reset installation. But I want to have the option to return to VRM Dashboard until a stable release is available. I think, you’re on the right track.

Which version of the app do you have installed?
We’ve made improvements in Beta 5 related to crashes.

Hi,
The version can be checked in the service menu instead of the GX interface.

It appears there was a network error downloading the APK. We’ll keep an eye on it.

I had some auto updates in the last few days. Currently it’s version 1.00beta6. I’m not sure what the original version was. The initial installation was on 14.04.25.
I’ll keep watching it.

Good morning,

Checked today Motorola g34, beta 7 is installed and runs just fine.
Check for updates works and then install beta 8 does not work.
Still cannot power off the phone, it keeps on restarting.

Regards, Jeroen.

Do you see any message after clicking on the update button? Like downloading…, download failed, or installation failed?

Good morning,

Ok, it took longer to download the beta 8 then expected.
It’s now in beta 8, all looks just fine.
Very nice with the battery percentage in the top right corner.
And, very nice, I can now switch off the phone also.
Thank you very much.

One more question, is it possible with multiple inverter/chargers to make one list of how much DC current goes to/comes from each inverter/charger.
Now it is calculated only total by the master in the to/from battery graph.

Regards, Jeroen.

Just crashed into a white screen. This time I could not get it reconnected to Cerbo, I had to reboot Android. (V. 1.00beta6 on Android 11).

Service menu of which software?

As i have stated - android is stating v1.8, but in app setting menu it is showing v1.6 and app update check is stating “no uodates available”.

Clearly app isnt correct , as it indicates no update available , but app indicates v1.6 which clearly is not newest version?

It clearly in your picture doesn’t say 1.6. It says 1.1.6. - I.e. irrelevant to his conversation.

And the Service Menu is in bold in item nr 4 in the manual that you can find in the first post of this topic.

Thanks for pointing out service menu.

The picture which shows 1.1.6 is from the service menu.
So is app up to date ?
