I found a super cheap Mini Android Phone for kids and turned it into a HUD on my sprinter. Took a lot of hacking but its been working well for me other than the short battery life when the van isn’t running. I’ll likely hardwire a constant 12V USB C outlet for it in the future.
I use the Motorola g34 5g 8gb 256gb phone as an handheld device in the field, vessel or building to make fault finding and commissioning easier.
Fits easily in a top pocket of a coverall.
No issues at all to install the app, see photo besides a Cerbo, last easily a days of work on a single charge.
I have an Ulephone Armor pad 3 pro and an Armor 13 and 24 phone, I’ll check how that goes, these are absolute watertight (only with the charging point closed as we understood, all usb-c, 33-66W charger).
But all 3 devices work for days on one charge, so actually you charge inboard, hang it in its bracket outboard and voila.
These screens are sunlight readable and can be operated with gloves as well.
The Oukitel ones have Chinese safety glass, the Ulephone ones original Gorilla Glass.
We use the Ulephone ones mainly because of their “endoscope” port on the side, big lighting and lanyard, perfect tool in wet conditions.
Regards, Jeroen.

Yes indeed Matthijs, Mr Perez (and background team) has opened a new chapter in the use of Android displays.
Should work on a TV also btw.
But also with the Nmea, things go perfect as well.
Time to conquer IMO vessels, one display what does it all?
Yes please!
Can you get it by the Class ('s) certification?
Like the Victron’s GMDSS equipment, we use a lot btw.
Some Androids have milspec MIL-STD-810G (or better) and IP69, explosion proof, etc…
I’m on a delicate docking job right now, gas tanker, but I promise to check these Ulefones I have laying around.
It started decades ago with Reinout Vader, with the first book “Altijd stroom” (always current)(now called, Energy Unlimited), we used it in Flushing (the Netherlands) at the (HZVS) college for marine officers as an addition to our electrics training in the early 90’s already.
Thank you very much, Reinout and Matthijs and all others.
I have a Chinese screen connected to CerboGX hdmi connection below the TV with the v1 interface because this is easy to read from the couch incl mppt solar. Just above the homewizzard p1 readings with some major power users and my complete ac coupled solar.
On the TV screen i have a small computer attached for vrm readings/settings.
