New EVCS install, doesn't see my Ekrano

I’ve just installed an EVCS and updated it to current firmware (2.04). I’ve turned on modbus on the ekrano, and found the EVCS and added it. It shows up on the ekrano’s new gui display, also on vrm. The EVCS however still gives me the error “Can’t connect to the GX device (192.168.1.19)!”. My ekrano was only wired ethernet to the same network as the wifi that the EVCS is connected to, and it wouldn’t show up on a scan until I also turned on a wifi connection (which got a second IP on the ekrano). Neither the ethernet IP of the ekrano (192.168.1.19) or the wifi address of the ekrano (192.168.1.80) will work on the EVCS.

I’d really like to get the ekrano gx status displayed on the EVCS for convenience – Is there a way to troubleshoot this problem? I’ll try disconnecting the ethernet temporarily but I’d rather not rely on wifi for my main GX (offgrid for the whole campus).

Update: I just tried to connect it to a separate cerbo, on the same network, and it’s on wifi only connection, not ethernet. It does show up in the discovery (the ekrano did not until I turned on wifi) but it still fails to connect. I did turn on modbus on that cerbo. So it’s not cerbo vs ekrano, and it’s not a failure because I have an active ethernet connection on the GX. Is there some other magic that has to be turned on in the GX for EVCS to connect to it?
