MultiPlus Shore Power Issue

I have a MultiPlus 12/3000 120-50 on my sailboat. Not long ago my cable that connects shore power to the boat went bad. I could detect power on all three of the 3 wire connections, instead of just one. An internal failure in the wire allowed the voltage to energize all three wires, I suppose. I’ve since replaced the power cable. However, when I have the shore power connected, and my inverter switch in the Off position, there is no output from the inverter. I have verified that there is power in the AC input connection to the inverter. When I switch the inverter to the On position, I get AC power output from the inverter, presumably from the batteries, as expected.

My guess is that when my earlier power cable went bad, it damaged something inside the inverter that keeps it from allowing the shore AC power to flow out. But the actual DC to AC inverter function still works.

Any thoughts on how to fix the unit such that I can get shore AC power out?

Do you mean off ?
The switch should be a 3 position one

On
Off
Charger.

Shore power is only passed through when in On or charger position.

On will pass shore power and charge the batteries, if shore power is removed the inverter takes over.

Off is just that, everything off

Charger will pass shore power and charge the batteries,if shore power is removed the whole lot switches off

I was of the belief that shore power would still pass through when the switch is in the Off position. I thought that I had observed that in the past. And that in the On position, the inverter was engaged.
