Dear all!
Can someone give me an expert answer on my question below:
The Victron Multiplus II GX will have some power self-consumption, for now it’s looking to me that this self-consumption is pending on the available power sources (AC and DC sources).
Backup from myself: If there is AC and DC connected to the MP, the MP is pulling 4-5W from the battery (visible when the battery is in ESS state 1 and 2), when there is no AC connected, the MP is pulling 14-18W from the battery in the same state.
Can someone give me the correct setup inside the MP for its self-consumption and possible adjustments for this setup?
Thx in advance!
Rgds,
Horst
Hi, have you read the datasheet ?
Doesn’t look too bad to me. (sorry if I have misunderstood your question)
Thanks Dave!
Yes I know those figures, my questions is, if there is a split on this power consumptions for diff. power sources (AC and DC) and if there are adjustments possible for this split.
Thanks again!
Rgds,
Horst
Hi,
I do not think there is any adjustable parameter for self consumption power, neither for AC/DC split of it (a Victron expert may confirm).
MPII (GX) are very erroneous in reporting AC load out, at low values. For e.g. check my system, at offgrid state, now: looks like super efficient, works with >100% efficiency!!
Of course, I do not trust those measurements. I use an AC / DC trueRMS clamp. If you want, I can make some measurements (but I have not seen any adjustable item).
btw, I have a question: I’ve got an external current transformer from Victron, which I have not connected to MPII. Does anyone know what is the terminating resistor value, inside the MPII?
I want to use it as a measurement device (I do not use it for “parallel to grid” mode).
Thanks Dimitris!
Of course I did confirm the measurements with a gauge and the 4W are disappearing in the MP.
Thx agn!
Rgds,
Horst
