Multiplus ll GX - VRM not showing battery %

Hi, VRM portal does not show battery %, When connecting to the battery via bluetooth all is ok and % can be seen.
CAN cable from Fogstar battery to VE CAN connected to port 2 and CAN terminator added to VE CAN port 1. (tried it the other way around too - with resetting the GX everytime)

When in Victron/Remote consule/settings/system set up/Battery monitor - I only have 3 options: Automatic/No Battery Monitor/Multiplus ll 24/3000 on VE.Bus

Am I missing something/anything?

Regards

Me

For batteries that are officially suppoprted theres manuals/guides from Victron. Fogstar does not seem to be officially supported, but they might still work fine

Do you see the battery listed under Devices?
Did you configure the Canbus for the required Canbus-BMS protocol?
Did you use the correct cable? Most likely the battery will have Canbus on pins 4+5 while the Cerbo uses 7+8, so you either need to create your own cable or use a Victron Type A or B BMS cable.

Hi,

No I do not see the battery listed under devices - only Gateway & VE. Bus system.

The cable supplied by Fogstar (3 pin to RJ45) is connected to CAN on battery and port 2 on Multiplus.

Fogstar have their own documentation when combining with Victron (the following is from Fogstar document) “Victron GX Connectivity After physically connecting the Fogstar Drift battery, configuration depends on your GX device: GX Devices (Cerbo GX Mk1) Connect the Fogstar Drift battery to the BMS Port. No further configuration is required, the system will detect the battery automatically. GX Devices (Cerbo GX Mk2, Ekrano GX) 1.Power on the GX device. 2.Go to Settings > Services → set VE.Can speed = 500 kbit/s. 3.Go to Settings > DVCC: Enable DVCC Set Shared Voltage Sense = On Set Shared Temperature Sense = On 4.Go to Settings > System Setup: Battery Monitor → select the CAN-LV battery once it appears. 5.Return to Device List. The battery will now show up as a CAN-LV device with voltage, current, SOC and temperature.”

I do not seem to have the options listed above when it says to go to “settings/services” I do not have a “services” tab - this is a built in GX to the multiplus. So I am not sure if I can configure the CAN BUS?

Thanks for the replies

Settings → Connectivity → VE.Can, set to CanBus BMS LV 500kbit/s

The Fogstar manual probably talks about the older Victron GUI

In the remote console got to SETTINGS → CONNECTIVITY → VE.CAN port → CAN-bus profile and select CAN-bus BMS LV (500 kbit/s)

Thank you - Thank you - Thank you.

The reason I could not see the “connectivity” tab was because I was viewing/editing via the OLD UI, when looking through the NEW UI all is there and clear.

Thank you once again
