Hi,
the WiFi connection of my MP2 GX is very weak. Connection to the internal access point is only possible if WiFi client is within 1m distance or less from the MP2 GX. The behavior is the same regardless if the external antenna is connected or not.
To me this indicates maybe a broken internal connection to the antenna connector. Any suggestions how this could be fixed?
It could also indicate a very noisy environment. You could try and test that by having a another AP situated near the inverter and seeing whether this AP does a lot better. You’d have to ensure that you are using the same band, though, presumably 2.4GHz, for the end result to have any real meaning.
That is a good suggestion for a differential diagnosis. Tried it with another 2.4 GHz AP. It has perfect connectivity for at least 10m distance. Therefore, electromagnetic interference from environment can be ruled out.
Another differential diagnosis test - though not one that will test your aerial theory - is to plug the CerboGX via LAN cable. And maybe a second one, for the aerial issue, maybe an external wifi dongle - seems that this thread, on these forums, discussed this Cerbo gx wifi dongle suggestions
