Multiplus ii not connectiong to Cerbo GX

Hi Everyone,

So I have a brand new multiplus ii 12/3000 with the latest firmware 2605556 and Cerbo GX MK2 with firmware 3.66. The Multiplus will not show up in the device list. It is definately in the correct port on the Cerbo, triple checked. the cable is a proper victron VE.Bus cable which I know works because I can connect to the multiplus with my MK3 USB dongle with Victron connect and VEConfigure 3. I have reloaded firmware’s and rebooted multiple times. Nothing seems to work. I have never had this issues before, it normally just works.

Anything else I can try before declaring the VE.bus ports on the Cerbo dead?

try plugging the Mk3 into one of the Cerbo’s USB ports, and the VE-bus cable into the Mk3. Then see if it shows up.

My Mk3 has a USB-C cable. I wonder if USB-A to USB-C adaptor will work

Ok I borrowed a Mk3 with USB-A. Works perfectly and the multiplus-ii shows up immediately. I’m pretty sure this means the VE.Bus ports are dead on arrival?

I think this indicates a problem with the internal MK3. I had one Cerbo where the internal Mk3 did not update properly from a firmware upgrade (Mk3) and disappeared. It then reappeared after a general firmware update. Try reloading the firmware in the cerbo from sd card using a full image.

Thanks for the help, Mike. I loaded v3.66 image with SD card as per this instruction: 19. Reset to factory defaults and Venus OS reinstall

Unfortunately still no connection to Multiplus on VE.Bus ports. Any other ideas? I’m going to log an RMA in the interim.

go with the RMA if it’s under warranty.
