MultiPlus II in Fault After ESS Assistant Setup – Cannot Reset to Factory Defaults

I recently tried to configure my system using the ESS Assistant in VE.Configure with a MK3-USB interface.

My setup includes the following components:

  • MultiPlus II

  • Ekrano GX

  • Victron MPPT 150/35

  • Pylontech US5000 batteries connected via VE.Can

After entering the required information (battery type, capacity, etc.), the MultiPlus II entered a fault state, with the red LED permanently on.

I attempted to restore the system to factory settings via VE.Configure, but I am prompted to enter a password that I don’t have.

I would appreciate any help on how to:

  • Fully reset the MultiPlus II

  • Remove the ESS configuration and start fresh

  • Or bypass the password prompt if possible

I can provide the .vas file if needed.

I resolved the issue by using the VictronConnect app’s Troubleshooting feature to clear the fault and restore operation.
