Multiplus II does not work anymore (3 Phase ESS System) Error 10, then Firmware update error

Hi everyone
I need some Help with my ESS System…
I have a relatively new system that worked like a charm.

  • Multis 48/8000 as 3 Phase system
  • Cerbo GX MKII
  • Pytes Batteries
One day the house went dark. VE.Bus Error 11
According to troubleshooting first thing to do in order to get enhanced error reports is to perform FW Update
So I started that Update to FW 555. This seemd to go well until the 3rd unit was on the go. Then it failed.

Result since then:
Phase 3 Multi shows 3 blinking LED (bulk, absorption, float)
In Victron Connect the same unit shows as Fault
A firmware update neither with VeFlash nor with VictronConnect is successful
Also a downgrade to the FW 552 does not work

Error Messages in VeFlash: uC2
Error Message in Victron Connect: Result: Vo - Bootloader did not respond to Bootloader Setup.
During the update the Fans spinned up and stoped again at around 60% and the result Page comes after 99%

All error Messages are also attached as Pictures for your reference

Anyone has an idea on what to do next?

Any support is much appreciated.

Regards Swen

Did you take note of the steps where the error happened when it first started happening?

When you are connecting to do the firmware update for recovery, have you removed all the links to any other devices? (Such as the patch cables to other inverters?)

Hi there
Thanks for getting back to me. I followed the instructions of the victron document. I firstly tried to perform the FW Update in order to get the additional details in the Error Log. Unfortunatley this has failed on one Inverter.
Nevertheless I then followed the steps and disconnected all AC connections including N which still did not solve the issue.
I did another try to update the FW on the 3 Multis, each completely disconnected from any Bus cables and directly connected with the MK3 adapter. Two of the three Multis worked like a charm The 3rd one still throws the errors I described.

I currently believe, the Unit is broken, as non of the documented ways worked to recover the system so far.

It is sounding like it is time for an RMA.

You are not making it past no. 5.

Hi, thanks for sharing. I am going to run all the tests in the document…
I keep you posted…
Regards

So… I did the RMA Test including the Bench Test for Error 11 and it clearly was not successful.
I raise now a Warranty replacement of the Unit… Thx for your support.
