I have a MultiPlus II, 2x Lynx Distributors, 1x Lynx BMS NG and two 300Ah Lithium NG batteries. I’m a bit confused about the charger setting in VE.Configure
I use “Lithium Iron Phosohate (LiFePo4) batteries” as battery type. Is this correct or should I also use “(No corresponding default)” as mentioned a few times here in this community? The charger is loading the batteries, which are connected to the Lynx BMS. But since I’m new to Victron, I’m wondering if this is the correct setting.
Choose lithium as you have done and lithium iron phosphate is correct. Reduce the absorption voltage to 56V as the NG batteries have a slightly lower charge voltage than the default lithium setting.
An important question is do you have a GX device (Cerbo, Ekrano for example). You have not listed it, but for the BMS to control the Multiplus correctly you ought to have one.
In normal operation the Lynx BMS sets the charge voltage and sends this to the Cerbo GX and the Cerbo GX controls the charging voltages on all Victron compatible devices connected to the Cerbo GX through a function called DVCC including the Multiplus, Orion XS, MPPT controllers, Wakespeed WS500 alternator regulator etc. Therefore, the charger settings in the Multiplus and other devices will not normally be controlling the charge, but it is best to have the proper settings in case the communication from the Cerbo GX fails.
58V? thats 3,625 per cell. I would never put that high voltage in a cell.
it more than proved that above 3,5 you gain almost no capacity, but you do well stress the cell…
