I wouldn’t believe everything on yootoob.
Expect the worst and be pleasantly surprised
We’ll see. Otherwise I will disable fan at night using the input and the fan assistant.
I mounted mine 3 on rubber with rubber plugs and changed the fans for a silent ones and mounted it in rubber in the original frame, very silent now
Topic starter had really loud noises, not normal transformer hum, thats what you are hearing
Unfortunately, changing the internal fan voids warranty. If our unit is out of warranty replacing the fan is an option.
Thats true!
On a Victron forum, we do not encourage such things.
Yes you are right, my bad!
Lets encourage victron to silence the fan. I don’t have any problems with the noise of the air flow, but I have with the howling and I doubt if it is normal. It’s only around 2100 watt, below and above there is no howling, just a bit airflow noise.
It shouldn’t howl. There were changes made some time ago for low rpm noise, which was the most annoying part.
Can’t say my own pair howl, but they do make completely different sounds.
One occasionally sounds like an amorous whale looking for a mate, but it isn’t close enough to bother.
I will compare it in a few weeks with the new install at friends if mine.
Hello everyone,
Many people in Ukraine have reached out to me with the same problem. They all have private houses or small manufactories and many neighbors use electric heating boilers.
Unfortunately, no one has been able to completely solve this issue. Everyone is addressing the symptoms rather than the root cause—for example, by adding soundproofing. I do not support this approach because it could lead to inverter overheating and, of course, void the warranty.
I got tired of searching for a solution, so I ordered the HF Victron Multi RS Solar 48/6000. It will be delivered in a few weeks, and after installation, I will share the results.
You’ll be pleasantly surprised.
And??? Is there already white smoke ???
I have the same issue
Hello everyone,
I successfully replaced my MultiPlus-II 48/8000 with a Multi RS Solar 48/6000 — no more hum noise issues from the grid, complete silence!
Thanks, everyone, for your help.
Hello @Vladyslav_Kh . I am a little surprised about that statement. Based on my own exercise, I confirm, the grid 50Hz hum is gone. But at the same time, the internal MPPTs and the inverter need active cooling and the two RS fans are far from “completely silent” from my point of view.
Hello Alfredo,
My MP II 48/8000 24/7 hum noise issue was unrelated to the fans.
I am satisfied with the noise level of the two fans on the Multi RS Solar under heavy load. This noise occurs only during the day, and at night, when I’m sleeping, the PV panels aren’t working, and my house consumes no more than 250W so it is complete silence for me.
