How about the noise? I am planning to replace my Noisy Multiplus for a RS model because at night I had to limit the discharging to 1000W only otherwise I could not sleep…
There are still 2 fans inside the rs.. i can hear them running through the closetdoor.
Could you give an indication at what charging/discharging power they start to kick in? I know it depends on the temperature but roughly.
Next time you paint the wall, paint it blue with a orange line, just like Andy did in his Off Grid Garage 
I can not give you numbers, but quite soon.. a lot of heat is generated in the RS when solarpower is around 5000 to 6000 watts, despite that my home is aircooled to no more then 22 Celsius. In closet I made ventilation with approximately 100 cubic meters per hour.
The fans are quiter onnthe rs than the MP2s

Remember there is a PV-less version of the RS that can be coupled with fanless smartsolar chargers.
My average load is below 500W and the load pops up only when additional kitchen appliances or the shower heater or the waterpump are used.
Yes thats the one I would like to use. It would be nice to know upfront at what load the fans kick in. My Multiplus is currently hanging in the garage (outside wall of my house) and at night I hear the humming above 1000W . So I limited the output at night to 1000W.
But I would like to change the Multiplus II for the 220V RS version, mainly because I want to charge my car at night with 3600W.
I wonder if the fans of the RS are blowing me out of my bed…

Early this morning the temperature of the RS housing was already 32 degrees Celsius, with very low load or PV energy, fans were off.

He installed his setup in the livingroom. For me is a valid question "is it noisy? And when starts the fans kick in.
The fans on Multi RS are starting when the inside heatsink temp. is reaching 53 deg.C and stop when drops below 50 deg.C
Also, mandatory, when the battery current - charging or discharging - is above 30A. About 1500W.
So, with it inverting to generate 3.6kW, for sure you’ll have the fans - both of them - on about medium speed.
I’ve added 3 PWM 80mm computer fans in the bottom grill of my MP II 6k5. It’s helped the fan noise but the coil hum transmits through to the next room quite well.

There is a Multi RS Solar (Inverter + MPPT) and a Multi RS (just the inverter) @alexpescaru You are talking about the Multi RS right?
Let’s talk only about the noise of the Multi RS and not the Multiplus II. There are other topics in this forum about how to reduce the noise of the Multplus.
Multi RS 6000 is a mppt inverter + 48 volt DC charger + 230 volt inverter.
I am confused. How many Multi RS products are there? I thought two. (I don’t understand Victron’s naming convention stratigy)
- Multi RS (only inverter)
- Multi RS Solar (inverter charger mppt?)
- Multi RS 6000 (inverter charger mppt)
Or are number 2 and 3 the same
There are 4:
Inverter only with mppt, Inverter/charger no mppt, inverter/charger with mppt, and a rackmount version of the latter.
Don’t forget the Smart word in the terminology… Marketing hype…

In your case @DutchSolarFreak , you want that during the night - so no matter the solar, so either (3) or (4) - to charge the car with 3.6kW, right?
So, as I’ve said above, both fans, for any RS model, will work on medium speed, when supplying 3.6kW.
And if Victron would be smart (!) they should introduce a 10kva model and a all-in-one 3 phase RS for Home ess systems.
