Multiplus 2 GX Problems after Firmware Update 3.75

I made the large update to V3.75 to be able to use node red. This was ok.

On the next day I had the Error - VE.BUS Error 11 -Relais error at 11.00 .

Is there a reason from the update to produce this error?

Now the Multiplus not switch on to the grid .

I hope somebody can help.

Best regards Volker

Did you update the rest of the system as well or just the GX?

Error 11 usually indicates that there is a wiring issue. Steps for troubleshooting are in the link.

Knowing which step the error 11 is failing at is the key to narrowing down what has changed.

ok thanks a lot .

The question for me - the system was running 2 years without any misstake . I have not touched the wiring - youst made the update.

I made the update from VRMPortal - in the view of devices i saw 2 updates for the multiplus

one was for the 3.75 large - this i have made

the other was from 4.90 to some else - this i have not made

now if I go to devices - i cannot find the view with the updates for multiplus , maybe this is missing from the 4.90 to …

the other devices are actuell you can see my account

but actually I have switched off multiplus because i do not want to make the batterie empty.

yesterday I have disconnected AC out cable and got the message AC disconnected and the multipus not running

Is this message because i had an pv inverter at the ac out - and now this inverter is not connected ?

I think what has happened is you are in the weird spot where the firmware on the inverter is far enough out of date that is doesn’t play nice with the recent changes in the GX OS

I think there was a random firmware where sometimes error 11 was spurious. It was around the 49xx range.possibly, i could be corrected. I will have to check the changelogs to see if your model was affected.

The inverter does have to be on to firmware update it online though. Did you try the update before or after it was switched off?

Either you will have to roll back the GX, then update the inverter first, then re update the GX (hopefully this works) or get an mk3 to usb adapter and update then reprogram.

Hi , my misstake was here :

I made the update of GX at first to 3.75 , I have V490 on Multi plus.

Now in the decice list has no possibility to check for update

in the remote console I see the firmware 3.75 now - this is confusing because before there was 490 - I can only switch between large and standard 3.75- how can I come backward now ?

With the mk3 cable I can connect to the Multiplus with victron connect , I find a firmware selection there from V490 to V558.

I have saved all adjustment of Multiplus with VE congig in a file . Is this ok to restore than with V558 ore should I make screenshots of all before update ?

How can i act now to get a running system an the node red too ?

This is ok to restore. If not, you can still open it and copy out settings as needed.

If tou have enabled node red, then it is as the manuals and basic training set it out as.

Unfortunately, I have a problem with my external wiring now, so I would like to ask again: how exactly is the relay inside the MultiPlus wired, and what is the control logic behind it?

You can see in the block diagram how the internal relays are wired

Now you did not specify which relay exactly you are referring to. But in general the transfer relays (which switch the incoming grid supply on ACin) are switched on whenever theres a supply on ACin which fulfills the necessary parameters, foremost voltage and frequency. Other wise the transfer relays are off (no supply on ACin or supply not ok).

The Acout2 relay switches on whener the transfer relays are on, and vice versa. But this behaviour can be changed through assistants for example.

The N-PE relay switches on whenever the transfer relays are off. This is to ensure that the inverter output is grounded. This can be turned off if necessary.
