Multi-rs is on passthrough and energie meter missing

Hi all I’ am new here and have a issue with my Multi-rs.
Battery. are full and the multi-rs is on passthrough, now I can’t use my battery.
Anyone got a solution?

BTW I’am from the Netherlands

you write … Energy meter is missing … please describe your system a bit more and especially the connection of your energy meter … RS485 or LAN ???

Energy meter is connect to LAN and makes connection to cerbo using TCPMOD. Energy-meter is visable in cerbo and I see all data on the widgets.

My systeem is
Cerbo GX
Multi-RS 48/6000/100
Grid-meter
16Kw batterypack
JK-Ress BMS

Hi @Sohal, at the moment the Multi-RS only supports the VM-3P75CT connected over VE.CAN. Other energy meters and VM-3P75CT over LAN are not supported yet.

Hi Luc, is this still not supported? and ive not, could you maybe give an indication when this will be fixed? Thankyou

Hi @meyo084, support for other energy meters or VM-3P75CT over LAN has not yet been added. I have no timeframe for release of this feature.

Hi Luc, at this moment my setup because of the missing lan feature is practicly unsuable because the ve-can connection does not works because of the distance apperently. Any indication of lan feature availibility would be great! More then willing to help testen beta..

You should use a S/FTP cable CAT7 with appropriate connectors. Expensive but then you will be able to go up to at least 50 meters.

And don’t forget the terminators, because at long distances the reflected signal/wave could create problems.

Hello everyone,
I have exactly the same problem and came across this thread while searching for a solution.
It would be extremely helpful to know if and when this issue will be fixed, because I can’t permanently run a cable from the VM to the Multi RS installation location either.
That would then be in my stairwell, across the yard to the barn.
It would be extremely helpful if the Multi RS could process the data via LAN.

Same situation over here, would realy help to know anything about an estimation ive and when we could expect this feature..

@Dalmatiner @meyo084
This feature is currently in beta testing. No release date yet.

Hi Matthias, Thanks for the information and quick reply! I would love help beta testing ive possible.

Maximum cable length for RS485 is supposedly 1200m.

Cerbo supports the modbus connection to the VM-3P75CT over LAN afaik, Multi-RS doesn’t have a LAN connection so it can’t support that route :).
If VE.CAN connection is required it can be extended over LAN with waveshare extender:

I have no experience though if this works.

Btw, I am not a fan of Amazon, but it was the first page I got looking for the wave share device..

Not convinced that going this unsupported route, and adding latency to vecan is a great idea.
You may just be creating more problems for yourself.

Nick,

Hence the ‘I have no experience if this works’ clause.
Considering the nature of the RS485 protocol and the ability to run it at 2400 baud I wouldn’t think latency is the biggest issue, compared to for example packet loss on modbus udp, but I am definitely not an expert and you are.

I think we just need to wait for multi rs meter lan support..

To ensure reliable communication, keep the network connections for critical components as direct as possible.

My SMA Energy Meter publishes its data via multicast on the LAN. My Cerbo GX, using a Python script, subscribes to this multicast address to receive the data.
It adds some extra layers due to Multicast mechanisms to share data across the network.

I recently experienced LAN problems that interrupted the data flow between my SMA Energy Meter and the Cerbo GX. When the Cerbo GX loses this metering data, as happened with the SMA Energy Meter, it can exhibit unexpected behavior.

Hi Matthias, is there any change subscribing to beta testing multirs meter lan support?
