Just bought a brand new, sealed MPPT 150/45 controller and whilst the documents state the pin is 000000, its rejecting it. Seems to be a bigger problem, I doubt that Victron will reply or do anything to fix it unfortunately.
Please check whether a sticker on the MPPT contains a PIN code as we introduced factory random pincodes to prevent unconfigured devices to be accessible using a default pin.
Its resolved for me at least, the printed instructions are incorrect unfortunately (for both my smartsolar devices). Quite frustrating but I’m up and running now.
Yes, the sticker had a pin code which did NOT work. Unfortunately due to low stock, this unit is now out in service, at some point I may be able to swap it out for a fully working one.
After reading messages from all the people who had problems with incorrect pin codes and Victron refusing to help them, that was the last straw for me. Ive had a bunch of issues with their kit in the past and whilst Ill keep these MPPT controllers, I shipped the rest of the order back.
I also had the problem a few times that the PIN from the lable didn’t, but in that cases I just did a reset of the PIN with the PUK and then I could connect with the old default 000000.
It’s not nice but there was no need to contact Victron support for that.
