MPIi and Hughes watchdog issue

I am setting up to install a MP II 12v 120 2x120 in my 5th wheel, I also use a Hughes watchdog 50A EPO gen II at the pedestal. I see over the internet that this sometimes cause an open neutral error that triggers the EPO to cut power. Most of these posts date from 2024, is this still an issue or not?

yuuup

I was asked by Hughes to try to recreate the issue and determine the cause but I can’t. Other distributors and installers have told Hughes this is a random issue but I haven’t been able to replicate it with or without the presence of an autotransformer on the output of the inverters. The theory was the switchover between an AC input and the inverter when the AC input is removed.

I set up a test using some NodeRed flows that toggled Ignore AC between a small hysteresis with SoC. I think I used a 5% SoC delta. Over the course of two days it must have switched 60 times. I have not continued the testing over long periods of time, however. And, most of our installations of these protection devices have the Progressive Industries hardwired EMS line so I don’t have a lot of customers using Hughes.

If you already own the Hughes then try it. You can disable the feature in the current generation I’m told.

Do you know if this issue is primarily with the 2x120V models? All of my testing has been with two 48/5000 120V in split-phase. That may be the reason I can’t replicate it.
