Matching quattros

Hi i have a customer who had one of their two paralleled quattro 24/8000 die .The replacement one from victron is not working with the older one .The serial numbers for them are HQ2105XYB9K and the new one is HQ232864X2F .So my question is are these compatible or do i have to replace the older one as well.

Hi. That’s not a model produced with a lot of variations, so should be ok. They should have the same ‘Product ID’ (maybe 2643?) and ‘Firmware Version’. A GX device can show you those.

Firmware can be updated to be the same if you haven’t done that already. Via VRM, or files from Victron Professional site.

The HQ numbers say they’re about 2.5 years apart in age, which should be ok. That’s more a balance thing and shouldn’t stop them ‘working’ together. Still in warranty too…

I fully agree with @JohnC . My Victron supplier insisted on seeing the number on the circled chip for parallel operation. That might be merely an alternative to the GX. I think only the first 4 or 2 numbers are relevant. Although my Quattros were 4 years apart, they worked just fine.

Thank you both for your help both quattros are 2643 and are both on 5.10 so they should be ok .I will try to remotely set them up for parallel operation via team viewer and see how that goes . The local tech is unable to get them working together.Considering that he was able to get either to work stand alone i guess that the problem is in his setup for parallel.

To setup a 3-phase, split-phase or parallel system you need a MK3 interface.
