I am new to PV and this forum. Currently I am planning a single phase ESS with 10KWh .
My concern is about the flexibility of the 70mm2 connection between The Lynx-Distributor and the Multi (5000 or 6k5). I wonder if a connection with two strings of 35mm2 each has significant disadvantages? I hope for much easier installation due to less stiff wires.
Thanks for the hint to the high-flex cable! I have not payed attention to that. I am not tha much concerned using two ports of the Lymx.. So, but if I read you correctly, you recommend using a single 70mm2 cable, right”
Both the 48/5000 and 48/6k5 only have a single stud for the DC connections, so you would need to stack the two 35mm2 lugs which could be an issue.
I like to use welding wire for DC stuff, thats incredibly flexible. Theres also cable available if you need double isolation due to your local electrical regulations.
In short, it’s better to use a single 70mm² wire than two 35mm² wires because of the potential difference in resistance of 2 wires but that is usually not a big deal. I’m using two 50mm² wires instead of one 100mm² but then, my inverter model provides for two terminals.
