I have just purchased a Victron Multiplus ii 48/8000, Cerbo Gx, 2x Smart solar 150/60 tr, 4x Pylontech US5000 and i would really appreciate if anyone can tell me how to correctly size and fuse the cables and how.. also deciding between a lynx distributor or power in. The plan is to add more solar and batteries in the future , but as my lead acid batteries died after 17 years i decided to go with pylontech and i need to get it connected so i have electricity.
i live offgrid 100%
any recommendations would be very much appreciated
take two Lynx Distributor. Check out my system thread about EF3 fuses and open-source fuse monitoring by Thomas.
I would connect each battery to one Lynx port.
You could parallel two batteries. You would need at least two positive and two negative wires from battery to Lynx, as the Aphenol-plus do not serve more than 100A.
Plan one DC switch between battery Lynx and other Lynx or one for each battery.
I did not check handbook for cable and fuse size. Please check it yourself.
Yes, each MP2 8k has two cables to Lynx, as one 95qmm would not be smooth.
MP2 - 2x50qm - Lynx A - 95qmm - Lynx B - 35qm - Battery
Lynx A has:
2x 50qmm 100A for 1 MP2 8k
2x 25qmm 80A? For 2 SmartMPPT 150/60
Lynx B has:
4x 50qmm battery 100A
Side Ports of Lynx are used for interconnect 95qmm and battery switch
You might be able to substitute the 95qmm bei two 50qmm between Lynx and bolt them from both side.
I can try it tomorrow…
ahhh gotcha. sorry.. i only have one MP2 8K.. but the website says 2x the cables.. what i should of asked is which cables. from inverter to ditributor or battery
MP2 - 2x50qm for my Mp2… i dont understand this and if i can see a physical diagram i would .. i am sorry but my brain just doesnt register this information in a plan or execution .. im not retarded i just need to visualize what is being said to me before i understand it .. sorry
Pls check handbook for fuse size.
For the SmartMPPT 150/60 this might be 80A.
Please check if 80A Mega fuses for 48V are available.
My SmartMPPT 150/45 need 60A max which is not available as Mega fuse.
