Multiplus II and a Lynx Distributor - Conflicting wiring information!

I’m doing an install on my boat and getting confused, because I’m reading conflicting information. I have both the Victron Power In and the Lynx Distributor. I have two battery banks. Each 500 AH properly fused and running to the Power In. The Multiplus manual states that I should use dual 2/0 wire and 400 amp fuse from battery source (Lynx Distributor) to power to the Multiplus. Since two 2/0 cable lugs will not fit on a single lug on the Lynx distributor, It would seem the only option would be to have dual 2/0 runs, each with a 200 Amp fuse from the Lynx distributor to the Multiplus. But I’m reading that that is a bad idea which I don’t understand. If the wire lengths are Identical, shouldn’t the load distribution also be identical? Many posts say to simply use a single 4/0 cable run from the Lynx distributor to the Multiplus. From what I’ve read, A 2/0 wire will carry 195 AMPs, so a dual run would carry 390 Amps which makes sense with the suggested 400 amp fuse. A 4/0 wire will carry 260 AMPs. That’s 30 percent less capacity than the dual run! I realize that if I use dual runs and two 200 amp fuses, if one fuse blows the second one will be close behind. That still seems to make more sense than running wire that is 30 percent undersized. I’m not an expert but I want to make sure this is done correctly the first time. I’m open to suggestions. Thanks!

This is the way to do it if using 12V. It’s just one of the many reasons to go at least 24V

If I had to do I over I would do what you are suggesting, but I already have the Multiplus II 12 volt. Its still in the box but I’m sure I’m beyond the time to return it.

You’ll be fine. Use 2x 2/0 with 200A fuses and get on with the installation. Enjoy your new toys

Thanks, I really appreciate your help!
