LED Error Code missing, error 13?

I am having a problem with the multiplus 2 when charging via shore power. It will randomly stop charging and show errors via the LEDs on front of the unit. However I can not figure out what one of the errors is trying to say.

The ‘inverter on’ is flashing in opposite to the ‘absorption’, and a solid ‘float’. (error 5)
It will flash twice before swapping to another error code:
The ‘inverter on’ is flashing in opposite to the ‘bulk’, ‘absorption’, and ‘float’. (error 13)

According to 6.3.2. VE.Bus error codes, the first error is 5 and the second is 13. I see that error 5 is overvoltage on AC-out but what is error 13?

Try the Victron Toolkit app, which decodes all possible LED blinking codes.

I have checked the app and it does not show that combination of LEDs. The only reason I was able to figure it out was because I saw it listed in the Error Indicators section of the manual.

Hi @TopHighway,

I have a theory that it is related to a communications issue, but I am asking internally to confirm.

Thank you for looking into it, I appreciate it! If it is any help I have changed out the RJ45 cable from the Multiplus 2 to the Cerbo GX three times and have had this issue with all three. They are official RJ45 cables ordered from Victron.

Hi @TopHighway

Is there any way that you could reproduce this error, and also record the LED pattern with your phone?

I can reproduce the problem by charging via shore power. Randomly after some time, usually 15-45 minutes later, it will fail and give me the error.

Hi @TopHighway

Is this system on VRM?
If so, could you post the VRM URL (this is safe to share)?

There could be an issue with the grid code that might be resolved by reconfiguring in VEConfigure, but also might be quicker if we have a closer look in VRM rather than keep suggesting maybes.

Is this the correct URL?

It is not always connected to WIFI since it’s on the street and the signal can’t always reach that far but as of right now it seems to be connected.

EDIT: Removed URL to VRM since I changed my components and it will no longer be helpful

Thank you for the help so far and I would love to follow up on the solution, however I removed the Multiplus 2 from my van so it is no longer accessible on the VRM. I installed a brand new Multiplus 2 in its place and so far have not had any issues. This leads me to believe the problem might have been internal to the original multiplus 2. Unfortunately the dealer who sold me the original Multiplus 2 with the possible error is not responding to my emails or phone calls so I am unable to start the warranty process.
