I have 120 Watts of Victron solar panels that charge 2 Victron AGM super cycle batteries (connected in paralell) using a MPPT 75/10 controller.
When viewing the system via the Blutooth connection, the battery type selected by the controller is “ Gel Victron deep discharge(2)” and the only AGM in the list of batteries is AGM spiral. AS the battery is not a Gel battery do I need to change the battery selected and how do I change it as there isn’t a super cycle AGM in the list? Also what does the (2) refer to? Is it that there are 2 batteries in paralell?
There are 2 Victron deep discharge battery charge profiles, number 1 and number 2. Number 2 is suitable for Victron AGM batteries, the Spiral AGM profile is too high voltage for Victron AGM.
if you wish, read the Supercycle AGM datasheet, this lists charge voltages etc. and then on the MPPT rather than use the preset profile set user settings, the MPPT manual explains. If you are unsure, leave it as the gel type 2.
If I want to change the settings, is it best to connect my laptop to the MPPT or stick with the phone? I assume I will have to buy a Victron USB interface lead if I use my laptop?
