Huawei On-grid Inverter with Victron Quattro 15kVA

Hello Dears,

I want to integrate an AC coupled System with Huawei and Victron Quatrro, my i know how these two component communicate, what is the communication between Ongrid inverter and cerbo, knowing that huawei inverters have smart loggers.

Thank you,

The Huawei are not officially supported - but I can see that they support Sunspec communication (Modbus) so maybe in the future it will be easier and need fewer components.

Is the system on-grid or off-grid? If on-grid, is the Huawei on the AC In or AC Out side of the Quattro?

The “easy” way to do it is with one or more energy meters.

One meter for the output of the Huawei (so the Victron system can see the true load).

If grid-connected, and there are loads between the grid and the inverters, then another energy meter for the grid.

yes the system is on-grid, the huawei inverter will be on the output. when you say energy meter, you mean a brand compatible with cerbo to commmuncaite, but will the victron system control the solar production of the huawei inverter according to the load?

Indeed Huawei not supported out of the box, but I do read the parameters via modbus-tcp in Nodered and actively control the system to scale back when gridprices go negatif. I have not looked into the option of reading the Huawei production parameters and put those values into the virtual devices that nowadays are possible in Nodered. Virtual PV inverter is something on my long to do/wishlist. About three years ago I have not been able to get sunspec working on the Huawei logger, although it seems activated, venusOS would not discover the Huawei logger and thus I only use modbus-tcp that worked immediately.

when you say through Modbus, between huawei smart logger and victron?
