Global link 520 - consumed Ah from BMV-700 only one tick after reboot in VRM?

Hi,

Can anyone explain this:
Setup: Smart Solar 100/50 and a BMV-700 connected to the Global Link 520.
The issue is that I only get a single tick of “Consumed Amphours” right after reboot of the Global Link 520. After that nothing to VRM?
Here you can see this:

Global Link and BMV are on the latest firmware (I updated the BMV via USB just to make sure)

So this is not a case of “not supported” I guess as it pulls the data once at start up, but then nothing?
(Global Link supports BMV-700 with: “Battery voltage, current and power, SoC, alarm status and reason”)

I would really like to see the consumed battery as looking at SoC is so “meh” and the installation will be unattended for 6 months of the year unless something critical happens then a 4h trip one way can be arranged if weather permits (Installation is in the archipelago in Nordics)

The GlobalLink 520 only sends a subset of supported attributes every 15 minutes to VRM. As you already noted Consumed Amphours is currently not on that list. It will however attempt to transmit other attributes to VRM at a lower frequency, in this case at least once every 24 hours. So that’s why it is still showing up in VRM, but not available at a steady 15 minute interval.

Okey, then I just have to live with the very inaccurate SoC :frowning:
Would the consumed Ah be something that maybe could added via a firmware update at some point or does the hardware put limitations on that?

If you set the Peukert exponent to 1.00 in the BMV then SOC should match the Ah consumed, so for a 100Ah battery an SOC of 70% should be 30Ah consumed. The difference between the 2 is due to the Peukert effect of a higher capacity at low discharge rate and low discharge capacity at high rate. Lithium should be close to 1.0 anyway, good AGMs are perhaps 1.12 to 1.15 and wet lead acid higher.
