Victron has published a solution for implementing §14a EnWG with regard to power reduction. This involves programming the inverter’s AUX output accordingly. However, Victron’s own wallbox does not have a dedicated interface like the inverter does.
If the inverter receives a signal telling it to reduce its power to 4.1 kW, the question is: will Victron’s wallbox automatically reduce its charging power as well because it is connected to the ESS system—or will it not?
That’s a good question…. According to the description, Aux2 relates exclusively to the charging current of the Multis.
The EVCS apparently has an input that can be used for this. At least, that’s what was announced at one point; unfortunately, there still presumably isn’t any documentation whatsoever.
I have a question about this too:
Is charging from the grid limited, or does that also apply to AC-coupled solar PV?
I’d really still like to be able to put my own electricity into the battery.
@Sebastian I haven’t been able to test this in quite that much detail yet, but since the AUX 2 signal directly affects the charger, I suspect that charging via AC PV is also being throttled.
Just a quick note, since people will probably find this thread via Google as a starting point: as of now, the 300-ohm resistor is no longer mentioned in the EV Charger instructions.
As mentioned, a software update is required and can be downloaded via Victron Prof.
I don’t have such a wallbox, so my assessment is based solely on the photo above.
It looks like the Molex KK series. If the pins have a 2.54 mm pitch, one of these should fit.
