After updating to firmware version 1.29, the screen never turns off.

It is set to turn off in 10 seconds. I have tried changing that amount and the same thing. It doesn’t turn off.
But active and idle backlight is the same. Set the active backlight bigger than the idle and you should see a transition.

Before, the charger’s touch screen turned off completely when time passed. And when I clicked on it again it turned on.
Now it’s only getting dimmer.
Will it always stay on?

Yes, it will stay on the brightness level which is specified in the ‘idle backlight’.
Do you want the display to stay totally dark?
Sorry for the delay in responding.
Indeed, leaving the screen completely off. That saves energy and makes the screen last longer.
Also, if you have the charger in a community garage, it is not so visible.
