I purchased an early (expensive!) version of the EV charging station for use on family visits, so rarely used. Screen failed after a year or so and was replaced under warranty. Now I have my own EV so charger is being used regularly. Working absolutely fine apart from the fact that the touch screen is totally unresponsive. The screen worked when first installed, but it could have been like this ever since the screen was replaced, I never tried to use the new screen until now. The ‘Lock charger display’ is disabled in settings, ie the display is NOT locked. Firmware is up to date i.e. version 2.05. I have tried changing all related settings, rebooted and switched on/off to no avail. Having paid for the screen version I would like to be able to use it to switch between Man/Auto/Scheduled etc but I can’t face the hassle and inconvenience of packing the thing up again and sending it off for repair. So I’m asking here - can anyone think of something I’m missing that can affect the sensitivity/function of the touchscreen on the EV charger. Otherwise it’s plan B - use the widget thingie.
Hi Nicolas, I have similar display issues but in my case the message in VC is clear: W-112 display fw update error. And diplay is completely black. I am controlling the charger via HomeAssistant & EVCC integration but I need to fix the display firmware without sending out the unit for warranty. I don’t have a Cerbo GX or other way to connect EVCS to VRM, but I have local web access. Today I have reinstalled the same firmware 2.05 and error message still persists W-112. Can I do anything from thw web browser to fix it? thanks a lot.
Hello @poe. Let’s clarify all the details. Could you please share a screenshot of this from the VictronConnect app or the web interface? W-112 means that the display firmware update is currently in progress. After a few retries, you should see the final code (W-110 or W-111).
Yes, but only tomorow. The display was working fine in the first 4-5 months from initial installation. In the last 2 months I had troubles using the touch function to start or stop the charging session, and in the last 30 days it became completely dark. Because I had additional control via HASSIO it didn’t botherered me. Evccs is always switched off unless I am connecting & charging the car, it is annoying to wait 3-5 minutes untill EVCS times out the display update and the charging station becomes responsive to modbus commands.I will check tomorow the existance of the power bridge pcb inside. Thanks again.
I can confirm that power driver board was installed. I have removed it and installed it back, powered up the charging station and Abracadabra!! the display & touch works perfectly, without touching anything else . Also on VC there is no more W-112 or W-111 errors. Somehow the display firmware update was completed. For me the topic is solved & closed. thanks
