I am currently on fixed ToU tariff. I had tried DESS but it is incompatible with (ESS) Scheduled Charging which I want to use to top my battery to 100% each night on the EV rate. (Our feed-in tariff is much higher than this EV window so it currently makes economic sense to fill the battery overnight then export all excess during the day.)
This is all working great except I’ve lost the reporting on costs/earnings. If I toggle DESS on/off it works for a time presumably as that logic is invoked, but then a day or two later the charts are blank again.
Should/can regular ESS report this useful information?
Hi sorry for delayed reply. No! I didn’t find a solution with Victron app which was a little bit of a pity as it’s 95% there! I did this in Home Assistant for a while but kind of got sick of HA generally as nobody else in our household would adapt to it so I was maintaining it for myself!
I did try last week with Homey Pro and it can track Victron very nicely thanks to community contribution - the missing piece is Homey won’t let me enter in my ToU tariff just a single flat-rate. Though it does seem to support variable rates in some countries.
Homey is very nice in general if you haven’t seen - just you need to be lucky as HA will always win out on capability.
