I have just tried DESS again over two days (did a similar thing in the spring) and it just wont work for me. PV is throttling down to match house loads and not charging the battery as would be expected.
If I turn DESS off the PV recovers to the full output and sends the excess to the battery.
Does DESS work for anyone?? I have posted this issue twice now and had no response. So i guess under my configuration its useless. Would like someone to explain why though!!!
Are you using dynamic prices? What are your DESS settings? If battery cost is too high there might be scenarios where charging the battery is prevented.
I am using and two tier pricing structure at the moment and have battery costs turned all the way down to try to get it to work. I was on dynamic in the spring and can go back to it as soon as I am comfortable it is stable and works in the real world!
it seems not not to charge at all. I have morning and evening scheduled charge periods set up (35%) to give me some ups headroom on our frequent outages. Also it definitely doesn’t follow the estimated schedule graph.
