Hello,
I am having troubble connection the EM24, Carlo Gavazzi, to my Easysolar 2 Device.
It does not show in the device list of the remote console and it does not appear in the TCP Modbus Menu.
DHCP of the EM24 is activated but the GX/Device inside the Easysolar 2 does not find the EM24.
The EM24 gets a IP/Adress, if I connect it to my Home/LAN. It is shown in the Display, so Ethernet of the EM24 gererally works.
The GX/Device also gets a IP/Adress if I connect it to my Home/LAN, so the GX generally works as well.
But I have not been successful connecting the EM24 to the GX Device via Ethernet, Point to Point.
Help much wanted
Thomas
@Feinschlosser The EM24 should be connected to the same LAN hub and not directly to the GX device. If DHCP is enabled the EM24 will obtain an IP address or you can set an own if you prefer.
If you’re connecting them point to point you need to assign each a static IP in the same IP range.
That IP range can’t be the same as the one on your LAN and the gateway IP of the Ethernet interface on the GX must be set to 0.0.0.0

Good morning,
thank you both for your answers. The EM24 actually connected to the ESS and it works fine.
I do like to share how I finally got it to work, though.
The idea of a point to point connection was somehow present, because that is how a current-sensor works and that is how the “RS485-version” would have worked. (I still appreciate the description above)
The EM24-ethernet is meant to be connected to the LAN-hub as a “regular” participant. That also presented some obstacles.
It did receive a IP-adress, but it somehow never appeared in the “participant-list” of my home LAN hub. It could only be seen in the EM24-display. The range of the IP-address revealed, that it was set by the DHCP of my home LAN hub.
I then connected the venus-gx device (internal gx of the Easysolar) to the same LAN hub, expecting the connection.
Then the “EM24” actually appeared in the device list of the Venus-GX and it could be configured as “grid-meter”.
Since the Venus-GX was already connected to my home LAN-hub via WiFi, the venus-gx somehow gave priority to WiFi.
I could disconnect the Ethernet-line between the home LAN hub to the Venus-GX and the connection still worked.
That is fine, but the IP-address of the EM24 is still not present on the home LAN-hub. That is something I can not explain.
However, it is present in the TCP Modbus menu of the GX now and the EM24 is listed as “saved device” there.
That basically means the EM24 is now connected to the GX via WiFi. This is not a disadvantage in my case and that saves me from drilling many holes.
have a good day
Thomas
