EM24 Lockup

I’m using the EM24 Ethernet 3-phase meter as grid meter. This meter locks up from time to time. It still responds to commands using the dials on the meter itself, but it no longer responds to Ethernet requests.

I’m aware of the issue mentioned here:
https://communityarchive.victronenergy.com/questions/66501/em24-ethernet-support-nightmare.html

I am running firmware “X-1.1 (Eth:1.8)”

But the issue still persists. Sometimes it works for months… but now I’ve needed to power down my whole house twice within a month. It’s getting annoying.

  • Are there known issues with firmware X-1.1 (Eth1.8) causing these lockups? Is a fix on its way?
  • Are there Ethernet alternatives to the Victron VM-3P75CT? I’d like a 1:1 replacement for the EM24, but the VM-3P75CT uses CTs instead direct measuring

If your cabling allows it, you could also ‘convert’ the network cable to an RS485 bus and use an RS485 EM24 or the new VM-3P75C via VE Can …
It depends on your cable routing and system placement …
Perhaps you can enlighten us briefly …

Thanks. My Cerbo is connected to WiFi, so there’s no network cable I can ‘re-use’.

I already have all the grid metering information in Home-Assistant, I migrated to:
