First of all thank you for continuing to use Dynamic ESS in VRM and for providing us with continuous feedback on what would make it even better.
We noticed that some topics were opened mentioning feature requests for functionality that has recently gone live, so I thought it was good to share with you the release notes of the last 6 months when it comes to DESS features in VRM.
New Features
2025-11-12 — Time-varying pricing formulas Added support to specify different pricing formulas for DESS that vary throughout the day. This allows more granular control over when and how the system trades energy based on time-of-day pricing.
2025-10-09 — Automatic DESS tag on active sites Sites running Dynamic ESS now automatically receive a “DESS” tag, making it easier to filter and identify DESS-enabled installations in the installation overview.
2025-09-03 — DESS Error State Widget A new widget was added to the Advanced page that displays the current DESS error state, giving users and installers better visibility into DESS status.
Improvements & UX Changes
2026-01-29 — Location reset warning Improved the VRM warning design and added a specific warning for users who reset their installation’s location while DESS is enabled, preventing unintended disruption to DESS operation.
2025-10-16 — DESS Settings UX: price/cost step size Improved the DESS settings UX by changing the step size for prices and costs from full euros to cents, enabling more precise configuration.
2025-09-25 — Redesigned DESS setup wizard The Dynamic ESS setup form was fully redesigned for a better onboarding and configuration experience, splitting basic settings and advanced settings.
Bug Fixes
2026-01-21 — DESS settings endpoint 500 error Fixed a server error (500) that occurred for some sites when calling the DESS settings endpoint.
2025-10-06 — DESS wizard: null battery costs ‘Null’ battery cost values in the DESS wizard are now correctly treated as the default value of €0.01, preventing misconfiguration.
2025-09-04 — Spain energy providers not showing Fixed an issue where no energy providers were displayed for installations located in Spain.
2025-09-03 — DESS chart “now” indicator glitch Fixed a grey line that would sometimes appear incorrectly on DESS Dashboard charts at the “now” indicator.
