Difference between the retail Cerbo-GX mk2 and the Cerbo in an EasySolar-II

The below document explains the key differences between the different GX devices -

And this has more detail on the underlying board hardware if you are interested in that -

It’s important to note the internal GX card in the EasySolar II GX is not a Cerbo, they are distinct boards and there are quite a few differences which those documents cover in detail. To answer your specific questions:

  • There is no HDMI port on the EasySolar II, you are limited to the 2×16 character display (Though there is now the option to use an andriod tablet as a display - NEW: Use an Android tablet as dedicated GX Wi-Fi Display (beta)).

  • There are separate images for each hardware option, though I believe these two devices have feature parity other than options related to specific hardware differences (displays, relays etc). Both can run Venus OS Large.

  • No, the EasySolar II doesn’t have an SD card slot.
