Did I Fry A Quattro Relay?

While doing some testing I managed to short circuit the wires I was using on the output side of one of the relays in my Quattro. I didn’t have my laptop with me to get into the Quattro’s configuration, so I don’t know if there is something that can be reset through software. If it can’t be fixed through software, how difficult is it to replace the relay?

Depends on you soldering deaoldering kit and skills. But even then is difficult.

I have seen full shorts sustained over periods on the relays so unless you had some rotton luck, they should be ok. Or at least in the case i saw they didn’t weld together.
Usually with a short the system just shuts down, attempts a few restarts then stops.

Sometimes just a full shut down and disconnect clears it.

As and fyi sometimes a local distributor will help.

Full shutdown of the inverter, including disconnecting the battery (with a switch) and turning off all other chargers didn’t reset the relay. The system was powered down for almost an hour. The capacitors were definitely drained. I didn’t pull the wires in the relay though. I might do that next, or I’ll just switch to using the other relay.

Alternatively, I wonder if I could switch from Normally Open to Normally Closed and reverse the programming logic. I guess if the NO relay is welded closed, that’s not going to work.

I have no idea why i thought it was one of the primary relays.

Yeah. Those little green ones weld. Simplest solution is to use another.
